Semillon
Semillon was once considered to be the most widely planted grape variety in the world, however this is no longer the case. One of the white grapes permitted in the Bordeaux blend, this grape ripens early and in warmer climates it acquires a pinkish hue. It is a heavy grape, low in acidity with an oily texture, and is best grown in a climate of sunny days and cooler nights.
