Spain
Spain is the most widely planted wine producing nation on earth, but ironically due to harsh growing conditions and low yields it is behind both France and Italy in terms of production.
Whilst the country has its fair share of big names and equally large price tags, in a country with such a rich family tradition in wine and so many native varietals it is not hard to find unrivalled value for money. The harsh growing conditions lend themselves perfectly to wines full of character and expression.
