Inzolia
Inzolia (also known as Ansonica) is a white grape variety mainly grown in Sicily, though it is also found in Tuscany under the synonym Ansonica. Together with Grillo and Catarratto, it is part of the blend that goes into both the sweet and dry versions of Marsala. Increasingly found as a table wine that can be perfumed, it is a well-built wine with lots of structure and viscosity which displays notes of almonds, citrus fruits and fresh herbs. A well-made Inzolia can have a beautiful deep golden/green colour.
