Carricante
Carricante (also known as Catanese Bianco) is a white wine producing grape thought to date back to the 9th century. Mainly found in the Etna region of Sicily, where the searing hot summers and cooler winters provide ideal conditions for this variety, these grapes also perform well in the lava soils of the region. Carricante grapes mature late, and therefore harvest normally takes place in late September. This is a crisp, chalky-feeling wine grape.
