Viura
(also known as Macabeo) Widely grown across Spain, Viura is a late-budding grape variety. It is one of the three main varieties used in Cava from the Conca de Barbera and is the principal grape used in white Rioja to produce a dry, crisp, refreshing wine with tropical fruit flavours and notes of almonds and butter. It is also used as a blending grape throughout Spain in many wines. In France, this grape known as Macabeo, is used primarily as a blending grape in the white and rosé wines of Roussillon and Languedoc.
