Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1er Grand Cru Classe 1989 Double Magnum (1x 3L)

67% Cabernet Sauvignon 33% MerlotNo winemaker had seen such early harvests: the earliest since 1893. Beginning at the end of August, the grapes were ripe and extraordinarily sweet. While early ripening does not always lead to the best wines, we were sure that, for the reds, this would be an excellent vintage, and the wines that it produced are truly delicious. TASTING NOTES (AT BOTTLING):The Médoc produced deeply coloured wines that are rich and full-bodied, without being heavy, similar to the 1982 vintage.

Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1er Grand Cru Classe 2003 Double Magnum - CASE SALES ONLY - OWC (3x 3L)

86% Cabernet Sauvignon 9% Merlot 3% Cabernet Franc 2% Petit Verdot2003 will always be a memorable vintage due to the heatwave in the Bordeaux region and in the country generally. A two-week period spell of scorching heat suddenly arrived in August, with temperatures rising above 40°C. Rainfall was very low throughout the vines’ cycle (555 mm between October 2002 and September 2003, compared to an average of 850 mm) but the soil remained relatively cool and the vines did not suffer from a lack of water. Our work in the vineyard had to be adapted to deal with these exceptional conditions. Leaf removal operations were thus reduced in order to protect the vines from the scalding effect of the heat.Fortunately, water reserves in the soil and more moderate temperatures from the start of September enabled the ripening process to be completed. weather in 2003 saw an exceptional heat wave in the first half of August with temperatures exceeding 40°C, together with low rainfall throughout the growth cycle.TASTING NOTES (AT BOTTLING):Deep colour with very ripe red fruit on the nose. On the palate, the vintage proves to be particularly rich, intense and smooth with very rounded tannins. Long persistent finish.OWC wooden case for 3 double magnums - excellent condition - sealed. This wine will be sent out in OWC unless otherwise specified.

G.D. Vajra Barolo Le Albe 2011 (1x 3L)

Bright ruby-garnet in colour with a wonderfully perfumed nose, with aromas of orange peel, flowers, red fruits, dried plums, pine-needles and brushwood.  On the palate it has lovely Nebbiolo structure, with plenty of fine, ripe tannins, elegant acidity and dark plum and savoury characters, with a herbal perfume on the long finish. Softer and more approachable in youth than the Bricco delle Viole, it has the purity and balance characteristic of the Vajra wines.
