Domaine Benoit Courault Tabeneaux 2011 (1x 75cl)

Benoît Courault has a small 5-acre vineyard in the heart of Anjou that. The grapes for this wine, Cabernet Franc and Grolleau, were hand harvested, destemmed and fermented in concrete tanks. The resulting wine has charming fresh red cherry and floral notes with good acidity and fine tannins.

Domaine Gramenon Cotes du Rhone Sierra Du Sud 2015 (6x75cl)

Awarded 91 points and Highly Recommended status by Decanter (www.decanter.com) in their May 2017 edition review of the Southern Rhone (see blue link below).

Syrah is stated as the "majority" variety, and we know this to be almost 100% in exceptional years, with huge attention to detail shown by Gramenon to create a beautifully balanced wine. Grapes are manually harvested and macerated for 12 days. Natural yeasts are used in the fermentation, followed by a 7-month ageing before bottling, some part being aged in steel, some in oak barriques

This is bold and elegant Cotes du Rhone, and much above the common herd: it is silky, aromatic, and full of local flavor: lavender, black olive, and ripe blackberry. It will keep for up to 8 years from vintage.

Goats Do Roam Red 2015 (6x 75cl)

Bright ruby in the glass. Fresh berry aromas layered with subtle spice and smoky notes. Light to medium bodied with young juicy berry flavours, fine integrated oak and smooth tannins. A beautifully balanced wine with a soft finish.

Heinrich Red Zweigelt/Blaufränkisch/St. Laurent 2014 (6x 75cl)

Brilliant ruby red in colour. The bouquet offers vibrant cherry and red fruit notes with just a hint of spice coming through. The structure of the wine supports the fruit-driven style and soft supple tannins make it approachable and ideal for early drinking.
£74.05

Jean-Luc Colombo Crozes Hermitage La Tuilere 2010 (1x 75cl)

Typical aromas of Syrah from the Northern Rhône dominate; red fruits & blackcurrant characters balanced with rich spicy notes. The wine is well structured with good grip from the tannins. With discreet oak characters it is smooth and balanced and can be enjoyed straight away for its fruit or could be aged for 3 or 4 years depending on personal preference.
£12.96

Meerlust Estate Red 2013 (1 x 75cl)

The wine has an intense opaque deep ruby colour very slight gradation to the rim. Bright and vivacious in the glass very youthful. The nose is expressive with lifted dark fruit cassis plum chocolate and black cherry. There is a pronounced minerality on the nose with graphite cedar smoke and cigar box bouquet. On the palate the Red is open textured with a rich juiciness and savoury quality already. The perfectly formed ripe round tannins are densely packed and tightly woven but remain lithe and almost powdery giving the wine a generous opulence even at this early phase of its development. Venison game pot roast and noble cheese.

Stellar Organics Running Duck Pinotage Non Added Sulphur 2015 (1x 75cl)

Offers astonishingly pure notes of mocha and ripe strawberry on the nose. Well balanced, its round character is lifted by a light acidity on the finish.
£8.04

Stellar Organics Running Duck Shiraz 2015 (1x 75cl)

Blackberries, black pepper mixed with jasmine and spice on the nose, whilst the palate has flavours of stewed stone fruits, fruitcake and spices ending on a savoury note with a hint of white pepper and integrated tannins.
£7.92

Tintonegro Malbec 2014 (1x75cl)

Sourced from Mendoza's Primera Zona of Maipu and Lujan de Cuyo the Mendoza blend is meant to showcase the exceptional value and approachable profile of Malbec. The wine's soft, drinkable style is accompanied by light oak aging for additional complexity.
£9.96

Torbreck Run Rig 2003 (1x75cl)

Once decanted the appearance is a deep ruby colour. Aromas of vanilla, plums, dried prunes, blackcurrant, pungent spices, vanilla, blueberries, and some floral notes fill the nostrils. The palate is rich and lush, with flavours of ripe black cherries, blackcurrants, liquorice, vanilla, sweet and pungent spices. An excellent accompaniments to French poetry; we recommend Baudelaire or possibly Verhaeren.
