Rich golden yellow colour. Ripe stone fruit on the nose with mineral and herb notes. Very powerful and complex on the palate with peachy fruit and superb minerality. Albillo is naturally high in glycerol which gives a pleasant full mouthfeel. Ripe, complex and powerful but with great balance.
Although produced on quite a large scale, a terrific amount of TLC goes into the production of this wine. The grapes are picked by hand and vinified by separate vineyard plots to reflect the individual expression of each plot. The wine is left on lees for 8 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. The result is a rich, complex wine with hints of apple and ripe fruits. In 2011, Valdamor Albarino was judged one of the top 28 Spanish White Wines in the New Wave Spanish Wine Awards.
