Steeped in centuries of legend and surrounded by the dramatic Highland scenery of Ben Rinnes, the village of Aberlour lies at the very heart of Speyside, where the Lour burn joins the River Spey. All Aberlour single malts are made with the best local ingredients of barley and exceptionally pure, soft spring water from the nearby natural springs at Ben Rinnes. The expertly crafted new spirit is matured in both the finest hand-picked Oloroso Sherry butts and American Oak barrels. It’s this double cask maturation which subtly brings together the characteristics of each cask to create a truly rich and rewardingly complex range of single malts.
Aberlour's uniquely rewarding depth of character derives from how it's made as well as the quality of ingredients, such as specially sourced local barley and crystalline spring water used to produce it. At Aberlour they have always believed in substance over style. Their whisky is born out of craft, passion and knowledge that’s been handed down through generations. Their story is of community, locally sourced ingredients and families of craftsmen who have shaped Aberlour into the distillery it is today. They believe that their whisky, with its depth of flavour and character, speaks for itself.
The Aberlour 10 year old is a most approachable whisky with charming sweet flavours of fudge liquorice and honey with a dry finish. Rated at 94 points by Jim Murray, this is unbeatable value!
