Located in the German-speaking village of Magreid in the mountains of Alto Adige, Alois Lageder runs his domaine on a completely sustainable basis.
The vines, farmed biodynamically since 2004, enjoy a long and sunny growing season with warm days and cool nights that help to preserve the grapes’ natural aromas and acidity. Alois’ wines are finely chiselled, with real definition and immense charm too.
Pinot Grigio, also called Grauburgunder or Pinot Gris, is currently the most commonly cultivated white wine variety in Alto Adige. The sites subject to Mediterranean influences around Magrè and Salorno have predominantly chalky soils with a high sand and gravel content and are perfect for cultivating this grape variety from the noble Pinot family.
Brilliant straw yellow with a green shimmer. Quite pronounced and expressive aroma with flowery and somewhat spicy notes. Rich flavoured in the mouth with a slight smokiness at the back and a good, fresh finish.
These wines are suitable for both Vegetarians and Vegans.
