The history of the Azienda Agricola Negro Angelo e Figli began in 1670 when Giovanni Dominico Negro owned what is now the Perdaudin estate, a house with an oven, a threshing floor, a cellar and surrounded by vineyards. Currently, the heart of the family business is located in the Cascina Riveri wine cellar in the small hamlet of S. Anna. This is where the wines are made. There is also the wine tasting room where guests can taste the wines and meet the people who make the wines.
The Negro family has had vineyards in Roero since 1670. In the beautiful hills of Piedmont they dedicate their lives to making beautiful wines from the white grapes Favorita (Vermentino) and Arneis and the red grape varieties Nebbiolo, Barbera, Bonarda, Brachetto and Dolcetto. They currently own 60 hectares of vineyards, spread over several plots: among others the vineyards at the historic family estate Perdaudin in Monte Roero: the vineyard San Vittore in Canale and Basarin in Neive. The wine grapes grow on the sunniest hills on calcareous alluvial soils that vary from hill to hill. The different terroirs and the microclimate in the different vineyards contribute to rich and tasty wines.
The many prizes that these distinctive wines have won are due to Giovanni Negro. He dedicates himself with great passion to making the wines even better because it can always be even better, he believes. But he doesn't do that alone. The whole family participates: his son Gabriele is responsible for the vineyards; Angelo makes the wine with his father; daughter Emanuela is responsible for the export market; Giuseppe in front of the Italian market and his wife Marisa receive visitors in the wine cellar Santa Anna in Monteu Roero.

Azienda Agricola Negro, Basarin Barbaresco 2016 - fiche technique
Classic garnet red color, very intense. Its aroma is precise, it reminds of the fragrance of red fruit, spices and citrus. The taste is well balanced, elegant without excessive tannins, with soft, spicy and mentholated aftertaste.
