Dewars White Label Blended Scotch Whisky (1x70cl)

Dewar's Whisky will always hold a special place in our hearts here at Exel Wines HQ in Perth. They are so much part of the heritage in Perth, that most of us have either worked for them in the past or know someone who has. Founded in 1846 by John Dewar, John Dewar & Sons Ltd has grown from a small wine and spirits merchant shop in Perth, Scotland, to become a global brand. It is Perth's world-famous blend. John Dewar was one of the first Scotsmen to blend whisky, and was the first to blend it right. So much so, he put his name on the bottle as a mark of quality.

Dewar's White Label has aromas reminiscent of a swirl of honey, with a sprig of heather. It is rich, golden, and warm. Its flavours are clean, with flavours of fresh vanillaand a slice of pear. It is a soft, fruity, and well-rounded whisky. The finish has a smoothness of character together with a subtle sweetness and a curl of smoke. Dewars White Label is full, balanced, and satisfying.

Johnnie Walker Double Black Blended Whisky (1x70cl)

Johnnie Walker Double Black was created by Master Blender Jim Beveridge as a darker, smokier interpretation of the world famous Johnnie Walker Black Label. Though it may be a relatively recent addition to the range, Johnnie Walker Double Black is already a classic.

Johnnie Walker Double Black was matured in heavily charred casks and used a greater proportion of characterful West Coast and Island whiskies to elevate iconic flavours to a new level of intensity. A blend of unprecedented intensity, strongly influenced by powerful West Coast and Island whiskies. Multiple award winner. Has consistently won prestigious awards since its introduction in 2009.

Full bodied and rich with vanilla. Bold, rich and intense taste. Best enjoyed with water to unlock its complex layers of smouldering spice and smoke. Mix of mature and naturally smoky Malts with classic Malt matured in deep-charred oak casks. An impressive blend to share, whatever the occasion.

ABV = 40.0%.

Johnnie Walker Platinum (1x 70cl)

Johnnie Walker Platinum Label 18 Year Old blends big, classic Johnnie Walker flavours with intriguing contemporary notes of citrus and fragrant almonds. Initially sweet with a warm vanilla undercurrent and a suggestion of tangerines, it moves smoothly over the palate into a nutty, malty dryness before a long finish brings elegant suggestions of soft charcoal smokiness and a beautifully fading citrus zest.

Old Perth Sherry cask (1x 70cl)

Old Perth Scotch Whisky was originally created in the early 1900,s in the city of Perth by the Thomson family, well known grocers in the City. By the late 1970s, a rationalisation sadly saw the brand disappear. The brand was brought back to life as a blended malt in 2013 as a celebration of Perth’s illustrious past in the whisky industry, the brand is the only whisky now blended in Perthshire.

Containing whiskies aged in each of the three main sherry casks, (Butts, Puncheons and the smaller Hogsheads) this deeply coloured and richly sweet blended malt will no doubt delight lovers of Sherry Cask.

Rock Oyster Blended Malt (1x 70cl)

Established in 1948, Douglas Laing is a leading creator and purveyor of the finest Scotch Whisky with particular focus on artisan, Small Batch and Single Cask bottlings. They hand select the finest, and often rarest, Scotch Whisky stocks from across all of Scotland’s Whisky regions and bottle them as the Distiller intended: At high alcohol strength, and without colouring or chill-filtration.

Prise open a rock oyster and you’d be lucky indeed to find a pearl. The real treasure though is the hidden, tasty delicacy inside, rich with the flavours of the sea. Bottled at 46.8% alcohol strength and traditionally without colouring or chill-filtration, this Small Batch bottling has a truly maritime and oceanic character of sea-salt, sweet peat, smoke, honey and pepper. Containing the finest malt whiskies from Scotland’s Whisky islands, including those distilled on Islay, Arran, Orkney and Jura, it’s no wonder Master Blender Fred Laing says “If I could select just one dram to transport the Whisky enthusiast to the Islands of Scotland, it would be this Rock Oyster.”

Wave soaked rocks and a salty oceanic fresh influence on the nose, running to an initially subtle palate that carries soft and rather sweet peat paralleled with smoke, honey, damp ash, liquorice and late pepper. All of what went before is neatly replicated in the moreish finish.
