Chateau Du Glana Cru Bourgeois 2007 (1x 75cl)

St Julien

While the Merlot in this wine  is very rich, with superb aromatic complexity, the Cabernet Sauvignon which is dominant in this wine is a later ripening grape variety.  This means it was able to benefit fully from the long period of fine autumn weather to ripen and develop full colour and flavour at its own pace.

Berton Reserve 2014 - April 2017 Decanter review

Sourced from vineyards in the prized Terra Rossa region of Coonawarra: here the warm days are moderated by offshore breezes and the rich red loam over well-draining limestone soils are the foundations for Coonawarra's justified reputation for producing premium-quality Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

This Coonawarra beauty has an intense, ripe berry bouquet with hints of chocolate and liquorice. The palate is brimming with crushed blackcurrant fruit flavours enhanced by subtle eucalyptus and mint notes characteristic of this region and is beautifully complemented by elegant French oak notes.

Cecchi Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano 2013 (1x 75cl)

This is one of the great wines of Tuscany which is based on the Sangiovese grape and is a good expression of it's elegance. The wine is aged for 24 months in small oak barrels. The wine has a deep ruby red colour and the aroma is of violet . In the mouth the wine presents itself as being pleasantly tannic , harmonious and well structured .

Darenberg The Peppermint Paddock Red Sparkling Chambourcin NV (1x 75cl)

Upon release this wine exhibits a deep appearance of vibrant black, crimson-purple mousse with a fine persistent bead that looks simply inviting. The aroma is initially restrained but as it opens up the level of fruit richness and concentration becomes quite obvious. The aromas are dry, dominated with a mix of liquorice and spiced plum pudding notes with a sweet seductive array of small red berries such as mulberries and raspberries. As the wine further opens up really super concentrated red fruit characters develop such as maraschino cherry, prune juice and boysenberry. The palate is cool, rich and dry and extremely refreshing with an abundant red fruit flavours, mixed with dried herb notes and edges of tarry tannins and mineral-like acidity. The finish is dry but with plenty of strong red fruit flavours that linger for some time, which is just what a wine with this sort of concentration should have.
