In 2006, Jermann unveiled their new state-of-the-art winery, which was beautifully designed to sit in a ‘bowl’ amongst their vineyards. It’s the talk of the region, and very much reflective of Silvio Jermann’s forward-thinking approach to winemaking. Silvio uses unique blending methods prior to vinification to produce highly-prized wines with hints of floral aromas, piercing varietal character, and an elegance that will only improve with age.
Only small volumes are made and this enables Jermann to control the quality of each individual parcel by tending it meticulously throughout the year. Yields are kept low in order to increase concentration and are harvested at the optimum ripeness / acidity balance. Area of Production is in the north-east of Italy, right in the Collio area in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Through very careful vinification of the individual parcels Jermann is able to ensure that the maximum amount of elegance and transparency is given space to show itself in the finished wine.
This wine has a delicately flowery and slightly mineral nose. The palate is medium bodied, dry, and with a very good, rounded mouth feel. Elements of minerals, stones, peaches and pears are woven together with balancing, crisp acidity. The finish is lengthy and elegant.
