The Domaine de Belle Mare estate’s 49 hectares are planted with a typically Languedoc selection of grapes varieties, including the famous piquepoul, as well as cinsault, grenache and syrah. Other more international varieties, such as chardonnay, merlot and cabernet-sauvignon have also been established, there are also some more original ones such as roussanne, muscat petits grains, viognier and vermentino. Les Granges de Félines is their brand of fresh and fruity wines. This wine is a white stemed from original blend of piquepoul, white sauvignon and vermentino. It has been called Félines because this is the name of the Estate Belle Mare's location: Félines Saint Marcel.
The grapes reach maturity early which helps preserve their freshness. The harvest is done at night and each variety is harvested seperately. There is total destemming of the grapes followed by direct pressing (pneumatic), protection of the must with CO2 and cold settling (4 to 6°C). The fermentation is done at a cool temperature of between 12-15°C.
This wine has a brilliant colour with a pale yellow tint and green hues; fresh nose of white flowers and fruits; freshness in the mouth.
