Situated in the village of Bué in the heart of Sancerre, this domaine comes highly recommended. Christian Thirot’s white and rosé are classic expressions of cool-climate Sauvignon and Pinot Noir respectively.
The grapes are harvested from vineyards that are located on the slopes of Sancerre. This means the vines have natural drainage and due to their position which faces South West they have good exposure to sunlight which helps to maximise the quality of the wine.
Individual parcels are harvested and vinified separately in stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks. After blending, the wine is clarified before bottling with no oak contact.
This is a concentrated wine with a big personality. The nose is clean and fresh with enticing lemon and leafy green aromas. The palate is full of citrus and mineral fruits leading into the dry, crisp, lengthy finish.
