Set in 165 acres of pristine Wilyabrup countryside is the Fraser Gallop vineyard. Nigel Gallop, winemaker, always dreamt of crafting incredibly complex wines, and that is precisely what he has done. His personal favourites, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, highlight the the quality of the Fraser Gallop range. A five star rating in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion and numerous plaudits for the wines mean the company is going one way and that’s up!
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc.
An intensely inky-coloured wine that is medium-bodied in style with attractive dark cherry, mulberry and blackcurrant fragrance. Trademark Margaret River Cabernet scents of dried nori, bay leaf and gum leaf. Structure and finesse are its main features with choc-cherry flavours marrying with the chocolate and spice oak. Lovely tannin closes out the wine finishing clean and long.
Eminently drinkable now but will develop further complexity for up to 10 years from now (2019).
