Freemark Abbey Chardonnay 2012 (1x75cl)

Ted Edwards is the director of winemaking at Freemark Abbey, where he has served as winemaker since 1985. His creative approach, unyielding dedication to quality, and many years of experience in the vineyards of Napa Valley – particularly the Rutherford Bench – make him one of the region’s leading vintners. With a strong vision and commitment to Freemark Abbey’s respected reputation, Edwards’ innovative winemaking ideas have enhanced the estate’s entire line of coveted wines and solidified his place in the winery’s rich history.

Light greenish straw in colour, this chardonnay expresses fruit aroma of green banana, guava, apricot, peach, and citrus such as mandarin orange and grapefruit. Adding to the complexity, the French oak aging is well integrated with the barrel fermentation bouquet of fresh baked bread. This wine has great viscosity, depth and an intriguing long finish. The flavors are lively on the palate with pear, citrus, lemon-lime, green apple and fleshy peach. This wine shows great complexity, creaminess, and elegance to compliment many foods.
