Mandrarossa is the authentic expression of the area this wine is from and tells the story of new and different Sicilian wines. This Syrah is a velvety wine with intriguing spicy notes. named after some of the dry local soils, recalling the saharan desert, from which the sand is blown by the south-eastern wind “scirocco”.
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-August. They then undergo maceration for 8 -10 days at 22 - 25 °C, after which ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks for 3 months at 10 °C. The wine is then allowed to age in the bottle for 3 months, before being released for sale.
This wine has an intense ruby-red colour with purple shades. On the nose it is floral and fruity with hints of cocoa and figs, as well as scents of elderflowers and lavender. On the palate it is velvety, with hints of ripe red fruit.
