The Marotti Campi winery is 100% family owned. In the mid-19th century the Marotti family purchased land in Sant’Amico, Morro D’Alba and built a villa in the heart of the Estate. The winery is now owned and run by Giovanni, Francesca and Lorenzo Marotti Campi. They own 56 hectares of vineyards in Morro D'Alba on the hills facing the Adriatic Sea in the heart of the Le Marche Region. Their wines are made only from grapes grown on their estate so as to guarantee a truthful expression of the terroir. The style of their wines aim to show the true character of the indigenous varieties that they grow rather than chasing after the latest fashionable grape variety. They will pass the vineyard and winery onto the next generation and know that they need to continue to respect the land in order to ensure their future.
Harvesting tyakes place in mid September. Small crates are used to collect the grapes and dry ice is used to help prevent oxidation.
Vinification begins with a gentle crushing of the grapes. Fermention is then carried out in stainless steel at 15°C. The wine is then left on its lees for 6 months. The wine spends 6 months in stainless steel and another 3 months in bottle.
This wine is straw yellow in colour with light green reflections. There are aromas of acacia, broom and wildflowers, chamomile and typical hints of almond. The palate is dry, savoury and has a mineral character, with hints of green apple and a pleasant almond finish.
