Originating from the remote coastal town of Wick, Old Pulteney’s seafaring spirit runs deep within its soul. Historically, Old Pulteney Single Malt was dispatched by boat and matured in barrels surrounded by the ocean’s spray, giving the whisky its unique taste. Built in 1826, the Pulteney Distillery is rich in history. With traditional warehouses exposed to the invigorating sea air blowing in off the North Sea, Old Pulteney captures the taste of the sea in every drop of its liquid gold. From subtle coastal chords to more defined salty notes, the flavour of our whiskies says much about the role and influence of our home.
Aged in both American and Spanish oak casks, the mid-range Old Pulteney 17 Year Old strikes the perfect balance between maturity and the distillery’s signature coastal style, winning hearts of whisky enthusiasts the world over.
Old Pulteney 17 Year Old has the colour of red amber with a rich ochre hue. The aromas are sweet with traces of apples and pears: slightly woody with a hint of butterscotch. Its flavours are sweet with soft fruits: namely kiwi, guava and peach.
