Chateau d'Orignac, a family home, has been involved in the production of grapes for at least 800 years. Today Hervé Meyer, with the help of his son Yvan, a winemaker in Bordeaux, carries on the work of his many predecessors with energy and enthusiasm to ensure that the products of Château d'Orignac reflect the quality of the terroir. To preserve and offer future generations the quality and authenticity of their terroir, they practice sustainable agriculture.
This Pineau des Charantes is cultivated, harvested, vinified, elaborated, aged and bottled at the Chateau. Grape varieties : 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. This Pineau de Charentes is aged for at least five years at Chateau D'Orignac's cellar in 225 litre French oak casks.
Tasting notes of the Winemaker Yvan Meyer:
"Beautiful amber colour with golden tints, it offers a powerful aromatic nose, with subtle hints of ripe yellow fruits like apricot, honey and raisins, spice and flowers, oranges!
It is pleasantly sweet and refreshing with a great harmony between grape flavours and Cognac aromas.
Intense, elegant and distinguished, this Pineau is the inimitable meeting of roundness and elegance that makes it one of the most famous ambassadors of its appellation.
Always served chilled, the Pineau d’Orignac is not only delicious as an aperitif ; it is also excellent with meals and desserts and very good with cheese too."
In 1795, Jose María Guadalupe de Cuervo began selling the very first Vino Mezcal de Tequila de Jose Cuervo after receiving the first official charter from the King of Spain to produce tequila commercially. Cuervo has been producing tequila at La Rojeña, the oldest active distillery in Latin America, ever since.
Tradicional Reposado is 100% blue agave rested tequila. It has been aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two months, giving it the smooth and subtle complexity that aficionados seek. Tradicional is the original Cuervo tequila, and it is still the number one premium tequila in Mexico.
Patrón XO Cafe is a dark, delicious blend of Patrón Silver Tequila and the essence of fine coffee. It has a dry style so is not sweet as with most low-proof coffee liqueurs. It is excellent for sipping, in cocktails or as a dessert ingredient.
The colour is a dark, rich brown while the aromas are of enticing fresh coffee, chocolate & vanilla. The flavours include fresh roasted coffee with notes of chocolate & light tequila. This is a smooth, yet dry liqueur.
Don Felipe Camarena was born into a family that had distilled tequila since back in the early 1800’s. As tequila making was in his blood, he started distilling his own tequila, selecting only the ripest plants and using equipment from his family’s original distillery. Don Felipe passed the business to his son, Felipe J. Camarena Orozco, who in turn passed it on to his daughters, Lilianna and Gabriela, and to his son, Carlos, who today, as Master Distiller, maintains the standards of excellence set down by his grandfather, Don Felipe.
The agave used for Tapatio resposado are hand selected by Jimadores (specialist Mexican agave farmers) and delivered fresh to the distillery where they are hand cut and placed in the oven. The blue agave are slowly baked for four days to transform the raw material into sweet fructose sugar. Once baked, the blue agaves are crushed and pressed in a modified sugar cane mill to extract the sweet agave juice ("Mosto") which is then ready for fermentation. A selected fraction of freshly made "Mosto" is pumped into small wood fermenters to slowly ferment using a special in-house 75 year old yeast culture. Once the "Mosto" ferments into dry "Mosto Muerto" it is ready to be distilled. The Mosto Muerto goes on to be distilled in small 90-250 gallon Copper Alambiques Tequilano Pot Stills. Barely filtered to preserve mouth feel, texture and viscosity of the estate grown blue agave. Before bottling this tequila is aged in stainless steel for 6 months.
