Peregrine Pinot Gris 2016 - Sept 2018 Decanter review
Taking a 'hands on' approach to winemaking since 1998, the McLachlan family strive to produce wines that embody the absolute best of Central Otago. "This passion for the land runs in our family, and is a hallmark of Peregrine as a business."
A cool and windy spring with the usual spring frosts, was followed by a hot dry summer. A long autumn with beautiful warm days in 2016 gave lovely extended ripening.
The grapes were hand harvested. The grapes underwent whole bunch fermentation which was done 90% in tank and 10% in older French oak.
Dry in style with lovely texture and fresh flavours of pear, nectarine and ripe citrus. It is perfect with Thai cuisine and dishes with chilli, garlic and ginger flavours.
