The name Picco del Sole refers to the ‘peak sun’ and the great importance of sun exposure — crucial not only for the photosynthesis, but also for the heat it provides. Owned by Bacchanal Wine Imports, Picco del Sole represents the direct involvement of the Bacchanal family in the selection of the wines. Each year, the selection is made in strict collaboration with the winemakers and the producers, so that consistency and quality are maintained year after year.
After soft-pressing the must is left to ferment for 10-15 days at a temperature between 15-18 °C. Once fermentation is completed the wine is stored in special stainless steel vats at 18-20 °C until bottling.
This wine is straw yellow in colour with greenish hues which demonstrates its freshness. The bouquet has notes of apple, banana and pineapple. There is also an aromatic note which gives elegance to this wine. The typical acidity in the mouth leads to a fresh and pleasant finish. Excellent wine to start a meal, for example with vegetable vinaigrette it matches well with herb-based starters, as well as any delicate fish and seafood dishes.
