Domaine de Valmoissine is located on the site of the ancient monastery and university of Valmoissine at 500 metres above sea-level. This guarantees sunshine during the summer months whilst remaining cool at night and limits the possibility of spring frosts. The vineyard's southern exposure gives the raisins perfect maturity at the same time as the Grands Crus of Corton. The yield is small in order to ensure perfect maturity and concentration of the grapes, the factors that create the best quality wines. This results in an elegant wine with remarkable finesse.
Our Pinot Noir "Domaine de Valmoissine" is a fruity wine, it offers a soft and silky palate with soft tannins. It matches well with grilled red meat, cheese and red fruits.

Montes was established in 1988 by Aurelio Montes, Douglas Murray, Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand, with the aim to produce the best wines in Chile from the best regions . We have long admired Montes and what they have done for Chilean wine over the past three decades. Their grapes and sites are carefully selected in order to ensure varietal integrity and complexity . Viticulture is hands on and individual rather than mechanical and industrial. The result is a range of wines that offer superb value within the premium wine market.
The Pinot Noir vineyards are planted on gently rolling hills. The vines only require minimal work with the canopy, which enables the growers to obtain healthy grapes with good balance at harvest time. The proximity of the vineyards to the Pacific coast endow the wine with tremendous freshness and minerality. The granitic soils of the Coastal Mountains have varying percentages of clay, which contributes elegance and creaminess to the wine.
The grapes for this wine were cold soaked for five to seven days to extract aroma and colour. After that, the grapes were fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and then kept on their skins to give structure and colour for another 15-20 days. After malolactic fermentation, the final blend was aged in French oak barrels (25% new) for 10-12 months.

Montes was established in 1988 by Aurelio Montes, Douglas Murray, Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand, with the aim to produce the best wines in Chile from the best regions. We have long admired Montes and what they have done for Chilean wine over the past three decades. Their wines are consistently good because they are meticulous throughout the entire production process. Montes own 800 hectares of vineyards in Apalta and Marchigüe located in Colchaugua Valley as well a single vineyard Zapallar, located in coastal Aconcagua Valley. The results are there for you to taste. The Limited Selection wines are classic examples of matching the variety or blend to an area. The grape growers and winemakers are given carte blanche to take outstanding fruit and come up with some wholly individual wines that are perfect expressions of site.
Grapes come from the Casablanca Valley, Chile's first cool climate region. The vineyards are 25-30km away from the Pacific Ocean and as a result, morning fog and cool breezes extend ripening allowing for the development and retention of delicate aromas and acidity especially important for making fine Pinot Noirs. All grapes were hand harvested.
The grapes were cold soaked at 7°C for five days to extract aroma and colour, especially important for thin-skinned Pinot Noir. After that, the grapes were fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and then kept on their skins to give structure and colour for another 15- 20 days. After malolactic fermentation, 40% of the final blend was aged in French oak barrels for six to seven months.
