Bodegas Hidalgo Prestigio Amontillado Seco Napoleon Non Vintage (1x 50cl)

Aroma: rich hazelnut. Full and long on the palate. Taste: nutty full flavour, dry and refined. Amontillado Seco Napoleon is originally aged to become a Manzanilla using the traditional solera system in butts of American oak. However, certain casks show a deeper, nuttier character, and are transfered to a separate solera to age oxidatively as part of the Amontillado blend. The name originates from the days of the Peninsula War, when the Hidalgos sold wine both to the French and the British!

Bodegas Hidalgo Prestigio Pedro Ximenez Triana Non Vintage (1x 50cl)

Produced by the Hidalgo Family bodega, established in 1792 in Sanlúcar. Made using grapes dried on straw mats, fermented and fortified, then aged under the solaria system. One of the sweetest wines in the world, PX is about as sweet as things can get!Taste: Aromas of raisins, molasses, figs, toffee, caramel, nuts, the palate is incredibly thick, dense, with an oily texture, massive concentration and unsurpassed sweetness and prolonged length.The ultimate sweet wine!

Hidalgo Pasada Pastrana Manzanilla NV (1x 75cl)

This old (pasada) Manzanilla comes from the heralded Hidalgo family where it is blended by the head 'capitaz' Antonio Sanchez. To acquire such knowledge as a capitaz requires a lifetime of dedication, as they must be familiar with the taste of every cask in the Bodega. Taste: An intense nose of apple skins and nuts leads on to a palate characterised by classic notes of almonds, orange peel and a salty twang. A prolonged finish marks this out as a wine of real quality.

Hidalgo Prestigio Oloroso Seco Faraon NV (1x 50cl)

The ‘Faraon’ is the head of an Andalusian gypsy family. Oloroso Seco Faraon is aged oxidatively for several years in butts of American oak. Matured in casks of American oak in a “solera” or fractional blending system in the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda for an average of 7 years to give a dry, complex wine.Taste: full rich smooth flavour, yet dry and smooth.

Sandeman Character Medium Dry Amontillado  17% Abv NV (1x 75cl)

Aromatic and complex on the nose, slightly pungent, with notes of Pedro Ximenez. Medium golden in colour with hints of red amber. Very harmonious on the palate, with an agreeable touch of sweetness at the first moment, giving way to a nutty complexity and a long clean finish. A traditional match to soups, Sandeman Character Medium Dry Amontillado is a good accompaniment to pâtés , smoked meats, rich seafood dishes and some cheeses. Well chilled it is excellent as an aperitif.

Valdespino Manzanilla Deliciosa (1x 75cl)

Valdespino is one of the oldest and very few family-owned bodegas in Jerez, with a history of Sherry producing going back six centuries.Pale straw yellow coloured, with a delicate yeasty, bready note on the nose, as well as a hint of flower blossom. On the palate it is very dry, a crisp and fresh and a slightly saline finish.
