The elegant notes of white fruit and apple are reflected in the pale yellow colour of this wine. The palate is full of juicy, ripe fruit tones alongside a slight minerality which both combine to give a pleasant finish.
Pale straw yellow. The Verdejo has an exotic nose that verges on tropical fruit on the nose but retains a citrus zest on the palate. Intense fruit aromas and apple blossom are reflected on the palate with an additional hint of bitter almond. Light in body, with well balanced acidity and alcohol.
The 2015 vintage was awarded 90 points and Highly Recommended status by Decanter (www.decanter.com) in their June 2017 edition review of 'Weekday Wines' (under £25) (see blue link below). We appreciate it is subjective, but we judge the current 2016 vintage (2015 has sold out!) to be of equal quality and drinkability!
Made from Albariño grapes grown in the Salnés Valley region of Rías Baixas, located close to the town of Cambados. Here, on undulating hills, the vineyards are planted on rocky and alluvial soils; they benefit from cooling influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean. Unoaked, the wine is a bright, pale lemon colour with hints of apple green. Aromas of white flowers, hints of peach and apricot lead to a fresh, fruity palate; it has a lovely intensity and an almost saline minerality.
Like its more renowned cousin, Albariño, this 100% Godello is crisp and fresh with light peach notes and a floral finish. Cool climate Spain is arguably producing some of the best fresh white styles in the world.
Awarded 89 points and Recommended status by Decanter (www.decanter.com) in their July 2017 edition review of Rueda Verdejos (see blue link below).
Straw yellow colour with emerald hues, bright and clean. On the nose this 100% Verdejo is intense and aromatic with a tropical character and citrus notes such as lime and peach. Ideal as an aperitif or with starters like smoked salmon. Also it is a great companion for any kind of vegetable dishes such as artichokes and asparagus.
Although produced on quite a large scale, a terrific amount of TLC goes into the production of this wine. The grapes are picked by hand and vinified by separate vineyard plots to reflect the individual expression of each plot. The wine is left on lees for 8 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. The result is a rich, complex wine with hints of apple and ripe fruits. In 2011, Valdamor Albarino was judged one of the top 28 Spanish White Wines in the New Wave Spanish Wine Awards.
Pale yellow with greenish tones. The aroma is intense with a frutal predominance and spicy notes of the barrique. On the palate it is rich in nuances with an adequate acidity and balance. An extraordinary white wine elaborated in surprisingly fashion for you to enjoy in time.
